ResumoThrough the concepts "modern" and "modern poetry", I intend to discuss, in this essay, how Cesário Verde demonstrates in his poem called "Num bairro moderno" his comprehension about those themes.In order to develop the discussion, I will consider the representation of the real, the importance of the senses, the phenomenological experience, the deconstruction of the boundaries, the transformation of the classical models and rules and the word as a powerful way to compose images.
