A questao formulada no titulo do poema “What’s in a Name?” de Ana Luisa Amaral serve de mote para o ensaio proposto, “De que falamos quando falamos de poesia?”, “de que falamos quando falamos de genero e de sexo?” “E de que falamos quando falamos de amor?” se constituem nas questoes mapeadas no ensaio que trata do papel da poesia “como um antidoto para a mais profunda injustica e desvergonha”. Pontua ainda sobre a desigualdade de genero e as politicas relativas ao genero, ao sexo e as sexualidades, bem como discorre sobre o seu fazer poetico. Abstract: The question asked in the title of the poem “What’s in a Name?” by Ana Luisa Amaral, is to be the motto to the proposed essay. “What are we talking about when we talk about poetry?, ” “What are we talking about when we talk about gender and sex?,” “What are we talking about when we talk about love?” are questions within the essay which discuss the role of poetry “as an antidote to deepest injustice and non shame ”. They also call attention to gender inequality and the policies related to gender, sex and sexualities, along with their poetic act. Keywords: Poetry; Gender; Sexuality; Politics .
