Este trabalho discute a importância do Patrimonio Imaterial no Turismo Cultural, evidenciando o Bumba-meu-boi do Maranhao, candidato ao titulo de Patrimonio Imaterial da Humanidade. Abordando temas primordiais como, turismo, turismo cultural, patrimonio imaterial e educacao patrimonial, alem dos aspectos historicos e culturais do Maranhao. Torna-se possivel a identificacao da importância da imaterialidade nos atrativos turisticos nacionais com o Bumba-meu-boi na tradicao junina, que envolve fe e devocao. Apos analise de aspectos historicos e da relacao do atrativo com a sociedade, e com o turismo, tem por objetivo a preservacao e manutencao do patrimonio cultural. Sendo o turismo um exercicio capaz de promover a educacao patrimonial em todo pais, busca-se atraves da realizacao de produtos turisticos manutencao da cultura. Apresenta base teorica em pesquisa bibliografica na segmentacao a turistica e patrimonial, possibilitando destaque na interacao dos autoctones com o patrimonio. Palavras-chave: Turismo. Cultura. The immateriality in cultural tourism maranhense : the Bumba-meu-boi cultural complex Abstract This work discusses the importance of Intangible Heritage in Cultural Tourism, evidencing the Bumba-meu-boi do Maranhao, candidate for the title of Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Addressing key themes such as tourism, cultural tourism, intangible heritage and heritage education, in addition to the historical and cultural aspects of Maranhao. It becomes possible to identify the importance of immateriality in the national tourist attractions with Bumba-meu-boi in the June tradition, which involves faith and devotion in themes of the past, present and future. Registered in the book of fall of the Institute of Brazilian Artistic and Cultural Heritage, as a cultural complex by the popular aspect encompassing in every state of Maranhao in a material and immaterial character. Its objective is the preservation and maintenance of cultural heritage, with tourism being an exercise capable of promoting heritage education in every country. It presents a theoretical basis in bibliographical research in the tourism and heritage segmentation, making it possible to highlight the interaction of the native inhabitants with the patrimony.
