ResumoAbstract Some believe that creating iconic architecture is done from the outside in, yet Tokyo‐based practice SANAA designs from the inside out, allowing opportunities for spatial flexibility for the users of their buildings to discover over time. Guest‐Editor Yael Reisner interviewed co‐founder Kazuyo Sejima to reveal the practice's approach to architectural beauty – a world of elegant minimalism, diffused light and new formal abstraction.
