ResumoChapter 15 discusses MCI, now broadly classified into amnestic (aMCI), which refers to cognitive impairment in which memory is affected and non-amnestic subtypes, and non-amnestic MCI (naMCI), which refers to impairment in any of the other domains with preservation of memory; it also discusses the importance of considering the possible etiology of the cognitive impairment to finalize the diagnosis, and the clinician's main goal of utilizing the history, exam, and ancillary data in order to determine the most likely outcome in a patient diagnosed with MCI.
