Resumo

King Arthur invented the twelve days of Christmas, according to a series of early modern Scottish historians motivated by nationalist and then Protestant concerns. Tracing Arthur’s link to Christmas feasts from Geoffrey of Monmouth forward provides a case study of how Arthurian tropes could be adapted to changing religious and political circumstances.
