ResumoIntroduction: Female footballers (soccer) have a 2.2-fold higher incidence of serious knee injuries compared to males, regardless of participation level. With a growing number of females playing sport, this increased injury incidence for females is of major concern. As such, research has focused on interventions that aim to reduce injury risk in female athletes, but this evidence has not been comprehensively synthesised. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of injury risk reduction strategies on reducing the incidence of overall injuries in female footballers.
