ResumoRESUMO A celula e a menor porcao da materia viva com capacidade de autoduplicacao independente. As celulas sao unidades funcionais e estruturais dos seres vivos e apesar da grande variedade de animais, plantas, fungos, protistas e bacterias, existem somente dois tipos basicos de celulas: as procariontes e as eucariontes. Assim sendo, diferencia-las, reconhecer suas estruturas, saber representa-las e identifica-las como estrutura fundamental de todas as formas vivas e essencial para poder compreender o todo. Portanto, a presente revisao aborda como as celulas foram descobertas, quais os tipos celulares existentes (procariontes e eucariontes, animais e vegetais) e as estruturas e organelas que as compoem. O objetivo principal da presente revisao e oferecer um levantamento bibliografico a respeito das diferentes celulas e suas principais estruturas: nucleo, membrana plasmatica e organelas citoplasmaticas. ABSTRACT The cell is the smallest part of living matter capable of independent self-replicating. Cells are functional and structural units of living things and despite the wide variety of animals, plants, fungi, protists and bacteria, there are only two basic types of cells: prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Therefore, to differentiate them, recognize their structures, know how to represent and identify them as the fundamental structure of all living forms is essential to understand the whole. Therefore, the present review addresses how cells were discovered, what existing cell types (prokaryotes and eukaryotes, animals and plants) and the structures and organelles that compose them. The main objective of this review is to offer a bibliographic survey about different cells and its main structures: nucleus, plasma membrane and cytoplasmic organelles.
