ResumoFluorine-intercalated graphite, CxF with x = 2.8, was tested for the cathode active material of an all-solid-fluoride-ion shuttle battery. The addition of copper fluoride facilitated the discharge reaction of CxF. It was discharged up to 0.4 V vs. Pb and the resulting carbon was charged up to 1.6 V, regenerating C-F bonding. A highest capacity of 230 mAh g−1 was delivered when 80 wt% (67 mol%) of CuF2 was added and utilization of CxF reached 98%.
