Resumo

The paper discusses the distribution and genetic characteristics of the basic types of land northeast of Montenegro, the example of the municipality of Berane, Plav and Andrijevica. Automorphic and hydromorphic, plots have different production capacities. With increasing altitude and deterioration of other natural conditions, reduces the productive capacity of soil cover. Observing the development of soil types in the vertical average, is more obvious to more productive land types associated with the matrix substrates of neogene sediments and Quaternary. Above the upper limit of development of neogene sediments enters the belt of forest and meadow land. Economic aspects of evaluation indicated the possibility of a land use in agriculture, tourism, industrial purposes. These areas has significant land resources. However, contemporary and future use of land resources requires a new approach that should enable the application of scientifically based methods to use in the process and in the process of its protection.
