Los nuevos datos no dan lugar a dudas: la rama familiar a la que pertenecio el poeta renacentista, asentada en Florencia a raiz del matrimonio de Leonor de Toledo con Cosme I de Medici, se ha confundido, debido a una enganosa atribucion de parentesco trazada por Cosme de Aldana, con la rama familiar Aldana oriunda de Alcantara que se habia establecido en el Reino de Napoles EnglishWe present a series of documentary evidence that highlights and corrects an error, unnoticed until now, which has affected both the genealogy and the true identity of the family of Francisco de Aldana. The new data leaves no doubts in its wake. The family branch to which the Renaissance poet belonged, settled in Florence following the marriage of Leonor de Toledo to Cosimo I de’ Medici, has been confused due to the deceptive attribution of kinship—established by Cosimo de Aldana—with the Aldana family branch (originally from Alcantara), settled in the Kingdom of Naples.
