O estudo objetiva analisar o comportamento da receita publica de um pequeno municipio em funcao da sua producao agropecuaria. A pesquisa se desenvolveu por meio de um estudo de caso no municipio de Formigueiro/RS, cuja matriz produtiva baseia-se na producao agricola (arroz e soja) e pecuaria (gado bovino). Os resultados demonstram que a mudanca mais significativa na matriz produtiva do municipio foi o crescimento da lavoura de soja, enquanto a receita publica cresceu de maneira estavel ao longo do periodo. Por fim, conclui-se que as mudancas na matriz produtiva do municipio nao influenciam negativamente o valor total das receitas, tampouco que o crescimento da lavoura de soja apresenta baixo retorno de impostos. Pode-se afirmar que o comportamento da receita publica tem forte correlacao com o crescimento da producao rural. A partir dos achados deste estudo espera-se contribuir com o setor publico na elaboracao de politicas em prol do desenvolvimento local.THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND LOCAL RURAL PRODUCTION: The Case of a Municipality of Small Port of Rio Grande do SulABSTRACTThe objective of this study is to analyze the behavior of the public revenue of a small municipality due to its agricultural production. The research was developed through a case study in the municipality of Formigueiro/RS, which productive matrix is based on agricultural production (rice and soybean) and livestock (cattle). The results show that the most significant change in the municipality’s productive matrix was the growth of soybean crop, while the public revenue grew steadily over the period. Finally, it can be concluded that the changes in the productive matrix of the municipality do not negatively influence the total value of the revenues, nor does the growth of the soybean crop show a low tax return. It can be stated that the behavior of public revenue has a strong correlation with the growth of rural production. Based on the findings of this study, it is expected to contribute with the public sector in the elaboration of policies in favor of local development.
