ResumoThis article is about the earliest innovations in polyphase power, with an emphasis on three phases. Inventions are presented when necessary to describe products, which is why the inventions of Michael von Dolivo–Dobrowolsky, Friedrich August Haselwander, Nikola Tesla, and Jonas Wenström make an appearance while those of Galileo Ferraris and Charles S. Bradley do not.
