ResumoIntroduction: The Brazilian Guidelines for Attention to the Health of the Amputee brings protocols of pre-surgical assistance until post prosthetic fitting rehabilitation.Objective: To contextualize pre and post-amputation hospital services and protocols and the process of referral of the amputated person to the rehabilitation and prosthesis, by the SUS, post-hospital discharge.Method: Descriptive qualitative research, performed with 23 professionals, among them physicians, physiotherapists, nutritionists, nurses and nursing technicians, through a semi-structured interview.Data collection was performed between
