Estudios y perspectivas en turismo: una mirada retrospectiva y hacia el futuro

espanolEste articulo se propone analizar la evolucion de la revista cientifica Estudios y Perspectivas en Turismo (EyPT) desde 1991 cuando inicio su trayectoria como Revista Latinoamericana de Turismo hasta 2019. Para esto se realizo una investigacion bibliografica para determinar el contexto y para establecer los principales desafios a los cuales se enfrentan las revistas cientificas latinoamericanas. Paralelamente se relevaron todos los articulos publicados en los 29 anos de trayectoria de EyPT teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de articulos por volumen, el pais de filiacion de los autores, los temas abordados y las metodologias utilizadas. Asi, se concluye que en el ano 2009 se produce un incremento dramatico en la cantidad de articulos publicados, el pais de filiacion que resalta es Brasil, los temas mas abordados son desarrollo, hoteleria y TICs e internet; y la metodologia que se destaca con mas de un 80% es el estudio de caso. Por otra parte, se concluye que pareciera que EyPT se enfrenta al desafio de tomar una decision binaria, desaparecer o fusionarse con otra institucion. EnglishEstudios y Perspectivas en Turismo. This article aims to analyze the evolution of the scientific journal Estudios y Perspectivas en Turismo (EyPT) since 1991 when it began its career as a Revista Latinoamericana de Turismo until 2019. In this way, a bibliographic research was carried out to determine the context and to establish the main challenges faced by Latin American scientific journals. At the same time, all the articles published in the 29 years of EyPT's trajectory were surveyed taking into account the number of articles by volume, the country of affiliation of the authors, the topics addressed and the methodologies used. Thus, it is concluded that in 2009 there was a dramatic increase in the number of articles published, the country of affiliation that stands out is Brazil, the most addressed issues are development, hotel and ICT and Internet; and the methodology that stands out with more than 80% is the case study. On the other hand, it is concluded that it seems that EyPT faces the challenge of making a binary decision, disappearing or merging with another institution.
