Tópico(s)Adsorption and biosorption for pollutant removal
ResumoCoconut bagasse, an agricultural solid waste, was used as a biosorbent for the removal of hardness after alkali treatment. The adsorption of Ca(II) was studied at pH 6.8.The analysis of the isotherms by the nonlinear model showed that the experimental data were best described by the Temkin model, which obtained a lower χ2 value. The maximum adsorption capacity by the Langmuir model was 30.20 mg.g -1 .The results using non-linear and linear methods to study equilibrium showed low discrepancy between them. The results show that the CHA adsorbent can be used for the removal of hardness from wastewater.
