ResumoThe urban parks are green spaces with public spaces capable of bringing quality of life for the population, as well as a proximity to nature, by the diverse uses of the landscape in these spaces. In addition, this article aims to understand the urban and environmental dynamics of the Horto Florestal Park in Campo Grande - MS. Methodologically, the research was based on the scientific method, focusing on qualitative research; documental and exploratory, supported by bibliographical and field research, as well as the use of secondary sources, being criteria of inclusion of productions and publications in the temporality from 1986 to 2017, in Portuguese language. However, the results indicate that the green area where the Horto Florestal Park (PHF) is installed is satisfactory for recreation and leisure. However, there is a need to develop public policies aimed at preserving the environment, as well as promoting the cleanliness and conservation of the entire area of the Park
