PŮVODNÍ PRÁCE by using different hand-related questionnaires and an assessment of total loss of finger extension; 2) to show which of these questionnaires was the most appropriate for assessing DD. MATERIAL AND METHODS Study sampleConsecutive patients were recruited prospectively to participate in this study, and 95 people were enrolled into cohort (Fig. 1).The study was conducted in the 2 nd Department of General Surgery in Jagiellonian University Medical College between 2006 and 2011.A total of 121 hands underwent surgery.The severity of the disease was designated using the Tubiana's Staging System (7, 14, 30):
