Impacto da atividade física na qualidade de vida de idosos: uma revisão integrativa

Resumo

The aging population that is increasingly present in society has brought about a new configuration in Brazilian public health: the need for actions aimed at health promotion and disease prevention in this population.The progressive incidence of chronic diseases and disabilities in the elderly person suggests the adequacy of the posture used, and greater attention should be paid to the quality of life of these people and to stimulating active aging.The study aimed to analyze the impacts of physical activity on the indicators that determine the quality of life of the elderly.This is an integrative literature review carried out from April to May 2019 at the Virtual Health Library, using the descriptors (physical activity, quality of life and aging) and the inclusion criteria: articles available in full, in electronic format and available for free; published in Portuguese, elderly limit, main subject health promotion and published between the years 2014 and 2019.The research culminated in the choice of five articles that met the proposed criteria.The results showed the regular practice of physical exercise with beneficial effects on the quality of life of the elderly in their physical, social and emotional aspects, with improved posture and balance, increased strength in the limbs, reduced muscle pain, decreased isolation support for social interaction, maintenance of autonomy and presence of well-being.It was evidenced that the accessible didactics and the free instruments help the adhesion by the elderly with low socioeconomic and / or educational level.
