ResumoColour, understood as a basic formal feature that underpins architectural composition, is an essential value that must be safeguarded in the recovery processes of our historic buildings. The enhancement of chromatism that defines the aesthetic criteria with which an architectural work has been projected must therefore be integrated into its restoration. The present communication details the methodology and results obtained from the study of the chromatic parameters that define the colour of the façade of the church of Our Lady of the Angels in Tuéjar (Spain), designed by the architect Juan Pérez Castiel in an early stage of the Valencian Baroque architecture. This work has made it possible to bring to light some compositional traces of great interest, currently barely perceptible due to the degree of deterioration of the pavement, which will serve as the basis for establishing the most appropriate chromatic guidelines in order to undertake the integral restoration of this monument, officially declared of Cultural Interest.
