ResumoIn this letter, we investigate Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) communications used by emergency first responders that are currently migrating from legacy trunked digital Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems to Fourth Generation (4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. Following the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) proposed by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for performance evaluation of public safety networks. We provide a comparative study for the two networks, and highlight the trade-offs as a function of the respective system parameters.
