Resumo

A Christ on the Cross in the Musee des beaux-arts, Nice, France can be attributed to Agnolo Bronzino. In fact, it is the Christ by Bronzino painted for Bartolomeo and Lucrezia Panciatichi, cited by Giorgio Vasari in his biography of the artist. The attribution is above all suggested by the perfection of the musculature's rendering—corresponding to a precise anatomical study made after a cadaver, as mentioned by Vasari.
