ResumoOzet Amac. Bitkiler antineoplastik ozelligi bilinen bazi ilaclarin ham maddesini olusturmaktadir. Bu calismada yoremize ozgu ve halk arasinda da antineoplastik ozellikleri olduguna dair supheler bulunan bitkilerin ozutlerinin bu ozellikleri arastirilmistir. Yontem. In vitro sitotoksisite calismalari MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-468 hazir kanser hucre serilerine karsi “Tripan mavisi ekstraksiyon yontemi” kullanilarak yapilmistir. Bulgular. Bu calismalar sonrasinda Salvia cryptantha, Ferula Orientalis, Allium sivasicum, Helichrysum arenarium subsp. aucheri, Thymus pectinatus, Tanacetum parthenium, Achillea teretifolia, Pelargonium endlicherianum, Origanum acutidens, Melissa officinalis, Berberis vulgaris, Rhodiola rosae ve Urtica dioica ’da umut vaadecek antineoplastik sonuclara ulasilmistir. Sonuc. Bu bitkiler uzerinde ileri duzeyde calismalardan sonra elde edilecek ajanlar, kanser hastalarinin tedavilerinde ve/veya kansere karsi kemoprotektif olarak yer alabilir. Anahtar sozcukler: Kanser, antineoplastik, bitki ozutleri Abstract Aim. Plants are well known source of some antineoplastic drugs. In this study, we investigated the antineoplastic potential of some plant extracts which are endemic in Sivas. Methods. In vitro cytotoxicity studies were performed with “Trypan blue exclusion assay” against MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-468 cell lines. Results. After these studies, we detected hopeful antitumoral activities in Salvia cryptantha, Ferula Orientalis, Allium sivasicum, Helichrysum arenarium subsp. aucheri, Thymus pectinatus, Tanacetum parthenium, Achillea teretifolia, Pelargonium endlicherianum, Origanum acutidens, Melissa officinalis, Berberis vulgaris, Rhodiola rosae and Urtica dioica extracts. Conclusion. Further studies on these plant extracts were needed. The agents which will be detected at the end of those studies, may be helpful in the treatment of some cancer patients or useful in the chemoprevention of cancer.
