ResumoProfessional quality of life in health:A study in Intensive Care Units.Objectives: To evaluate the Professional Quality of Life analizing Compassion Satisfaction, Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress among health professionals working in Intensive Care Units; to check the risk factors for the occurrence of Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress on those professionals.Method: Survey study conducted in four ICUs of tertiary university hospitals in São Paulo.Sociodemographic data was used along with the and ProQOL-BR tool.Results: There was a statistically relevant association between Secondary Traumatic Stress and gender (p = 0.03) and between Compassion Satisfaction, Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress (p < 0.01; p = 0.002).Conclusion: It was found that there is instability in the professional quality of life of participants, and that the risk factors for Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress aren't related to professional area, age, education, marital status, or income.
