Private condominiums and other walled residential subdivisions have been highlighted in recent decades as a rewarding product for the real estate sector, especially when directed to the richer social groups. This paper aims to approach these enterprises from the point of view of their impact on the urban morphology of cities and the forms of use and appropriation of spaces that originate from the imposition of the physical barrier of the walls.
