ResumoObjective: To analyze nurses' conceptions of primary care management.Methodology: This is a descriptive exploratory field study with a qualitative approach, aiming to contemplate the objectives presented in this research.It was held in the city of Uiraúna-PB with five nurses who work in the Family Health Strategy.The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire containing questions of characterization of professionals and specific questions about their knowledge about management in primary care.Data interpretation and analysis followed a qualitative content analysis procedure, according to Bardin's content analysis technique.The research met the criteria of Resolution 410/2012, which deals with studies involving beings and the Santa Maria College Ethics and Research Committee, approved with CAAE n ° 25008619.7.0000.5180.Results: It was evidenced that primary care professionals have a foundation scientific knowledge and prior knowledge on the subject of management in Primary Care, but the divergence of definitions and opinions which makes the work performed differently by each professional.Conclusion: Professionals were very accessible and knowledgeable about the issue in question., recognize that it is not an easy function and that much remains to be done, there are still many impasses that insist on perpetuating over the years, either structural, or professional training and commitment.One of the challenges of nursing is to reconcile humanized care with management functions, as they must walk together and associated to provide quality service to users.
