ResumoThe decay of $_{56}^{148}\mathrm{Ba}_{92}$ to levels of odd-odd $_{57}^{148}\mathrm{La}_{91}$ has been studied in experiments where $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray singles, time-dependent $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray spectra, and $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}t$ coincidence spectra were collected. The $^{148}\mathrm{Ba}$ activity was produced directly by on-line mass separation. The half-life of $^{148}\mathrm{Ba}$ was determined to be 0.61\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03 s. A level scheme containing 26 levels and 63 $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ rays is proposed for $^{148}\mathrm{La}$. Spin and parity for several low-lying levels are assigned on the basis of internal conversion coefficient measurements and $\ensuremath{\beta}$- and $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray branching. A half-life of 67\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}4 ns is measured for the 56-keV level. Several features of the level scheme are discussed and compared to neighboring La isotopes and $N=91$ isotones.[RADIOACTIVITY $^{148}\mathrm{Ba}$ [from $^{235}\mathrm{U}({\mathrm{n}}_{\mathrm{th}},f)$] measured ${E}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}},{I}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}},{\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{k},{t}_{\frac{1}{2}},\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}t$ coincidence, LEPS and HpGe detectors; $^{148}\mathrm{La}$ deduced levels, ${I}_{\ensuremath{\beta}},{J}^{\ensuremath{\pi}}$, and level halflife. Mass separated $^{148}\mathrm{Ba}$ activity.]
