Resumo

The industrialization process generates solid, liquid and gaseous waste.Liquid residues present high degrees of harmfulness to the environment, as they are difficult to control, and because of the possibilities of contamination of river waters and groundwater. Thus, the importance of analyzing how an Industrial District can work combining economic growth and nature preservation and what changes are necessary to cause the least damage to the environment. The methodology was based on the analysis of the parameters used in the initial design of the Treatment Station and the reports that were made for each incident at the Treatment Station. The conclusions point to two main aspects that cause environmental problems: the high demand for effluents for the size of the Station and the lack of pre-treatment of waste in the generating industries.
