ResumoThe Eduka + Angola project is an academic extension project aimed at education, whose main objective is the training of teachers. In its second edition, in January 2019, it had 19 members, a team composed of UniEvangélica professors and academics. The present experience report sought to describe the adaptation of the body of a student diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus during the execution of the project, during the period of 21 days when she was in Angola, considering that, despite all the preparation before the trip, there was still insecurity on the part of the diabetic academic and a state of alert by the team, especially by the coordinators. At this time it was possible to infer that there was little change in the glucose values during the trip, and the greatest variation was identified early on with the rise in glucose due to climatic variation and food, however, at the end of the journey the same were within the individual parameters of the academic. This result shows that it is possible for an individual with diabetes, even with certain care, to get out of their routine and living environment, without harming the quality of health.
