Resumo野外地質調査と珪藻化石分析に基づいて,常磐地域南部の茨城県北茨城・高萩地域に分布する新第三系の多賀層群と日立層群の層序を確立した.両層群は常磐沖に発達する前期白亜紀から現世に至る前弧堆積盆を埋積した堆積物の一部である.
