Resumo

On the path to raise consciousness about the Jungian racial shadow, the author finds herself in an identity crisis. As a Jew whose family escaped the Shoah she has always identified with Black people. They are central figures in her inner life, helpful spirit guides in her dreams. She has to confront the reality of the outer world, in which Jews became white people, with all the privileges of that status, decades ago. Three poems by mid-century white American poets speak to Black Presence in the psyches of white folk and raise consciousness of implicit racial bias.
