ResumoThe organization of the project "Virtual Memory Center of the Nursing Department of the University of Brasília (UnB)" came from the initiative of a professor from the Nursing department, from the Faculty of Health Sciences at UnB, especially motivated by the celebration of the 40th year of approval the functioning of the Nursing Undergraduate Course that took place in 1975.This article aims to present and describe the experience of the actions of safeguarding the documents of the Department of Nursing at UnB and how such activities contributed to the production of specialized content, as well as for the construction of the nursing course memory, to then feed the research and creation of the UnB Nursing Virtual Memory Center.The methodology adopted was the experience report based on the experience of students and teachers included in the project and the guidelines provided by a museologist, also a member of the group, on the importance of preserving the documentary archive and institutional history.The Memory Center also aims to preserve and make the collection accessible to the external public, through virtual platforms.The proposal for the creation of the Memory Center includes the identification, organization, preservation and digitization of documents.
