As eleições europeias de 2019 em Portugal: Um teste à «Geringonça»?

espanolThe 2019 European Parliament elections were especially interesting in Portugal. They took place four months before the Portuguese legislative election and for this reason they worked as a first-round test for the “contrapation” – for the Socialist Party (ps) and its partners in the left flank but also for the opposition. In this article we briefly discuss the nature and characteristics of the European elections, drawing on the predictability power of the second-order elections model. This article takes a longitudinal perspective, by comparing the European elections with the 2014 european contest and the legislative elections that took place in 2019 and in 2015. portuguesEm Portugal, as eleicoes para o Parlamento Europeu de 2019 foram particularmente interessantes. Decorreram apenas quatro meses antes das legislativas e por essa razao funcionaram como uma especie de teste para a «Geringonca» ‒ para o Partido Socialista (ps) e os seus parceiros a esquerda ‒ mas tambem para a oposicao. Neste artigo, refletimos brevemente sobre a natureza e as caracteristicas das eleicoes europeias, apoiando-nos no modelo de eleicoes de segunda ordem. Seguindo uma perspetiva longitudinal, este artigo procura analisar as europeias a luz dos resultados de 2014, mas tambem comparando-as com as eleicoes legislativas de 2019 e 2015.
