ResumoThe Tiete-Parana Waterway has been important ally in national development, especially given to the agricultural producers of the regions center-west and southeast brazilian, as well as other states. It is known that the modal waterway is fundamental to the transport of cargo over long distances as compared to modal, rail and road, consumes less fuel, and emit less pollution, aspects these that make it competitive and strategic importance. In the face of its relevance, not only for the mobility local mobility, but also – fundamentally - to the regional logistics, the objective is to identify the impacts of drought on the flow of the production of grains produced in the center-west region of Brazil, from the point of view of economic mobility, among the years of 2014 and 2016 - period of 20 months in which he had been with the restricted navigation. As a way to substantiate the study, were raised data provided by the DHSP and by ANTAQ, that demonstrate in a way quali-quantitative the strategic importance of the waterway for the flow of production, and its efficiency in the reduction of the bottleneck in the logistics chain where, even after the period in question, the flow is growing, reaching 5.95 million tons transported in the year 2017.
