Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.The relationship between public participation, coastal economy and coastal environmental pollution are analyzed in this paper. First, this paper takes public environmental petitions as an estimated variable, the influence of economic factors and environmental factors on it is discussed. Secondly, we also analyzed whether the degree of public participation can effectively reduce the scale of pollution emissions by taking local sulfur dioxide and industrial soot emissions as explained variables. This paper uses Poisson regression and Zero-Inflated Poisson Regression to explore the influence of each explanatory variable on the environmental public participation. The empirical results show that economic development will stimulate the demand for environment when personal income and wealth are improved. Local investment in coastal environmental construction will guarantee or improve the coastal environmental quality, which will not only reduce people's attention to environmental problems, but also reduce the scale of coastal environmental pollution emissions. Secondly, with the increase of public participation, the public's demand for environmental improvement will bring pressure to government departments, thus stimulating economic activities to prevent and control pollution.
