RESUMO: Neste artigo propomos uma analise das relacoes sociais entre as personagens da obra A vegetariana (2007) de Han Kang. Tendo como fundamento teorico o conceito de carnofalogocentrismo de Jacques Derrida e a teoria ecofeminista de Carol J. Adams, a analise tem como ponto central os habitos alimentares das personagens, com o foco nas desconjunturas que surgem apos a adocao da dieta vegetariana por uma delas. Concluimos que os habitos alimentares das personagens, e especialmente a decisao em consumir carne, estao diretamente relacionados a hierarquia social daquela sociedade, na qual mulheres e animais sao submetidos a exploracao e dominância patriarcal. ABSTRACT: In this article, we propose an analysis of the relationships among the characters in the literary work The vegetarian (2007) by Han Kang. Considering the theoretical basis of the concept of carnophallogocentrism by Jacques Derrida and the ecofeminist theory formulated by Carol J. Adams; the analysis is centered on the characters' eating habits focusing on the disagreements that arise after the adoption of a vegetarian diet by one of the characters. Our conclusion is that habits related to food and flesh consumption are directly linked to the social hierarchy found in that society, in which women and animals are subjected to violence and patriarchal dominance.
