espanolEl presente articulo se centra en el escrito El problema del genio, del filosofo e intelectual argentino Macedonio Fernandez, publicado en 1902 en la revista Archivos, iconica del positivismo de la epoca. Se realiza un analisis minucioso del texto mencionado, con el objetivo de dar cuenta de tres entrecruzamientos fundamentales que lo atraviesan, a saber, la teoria de la Humoristica conceptualizada por el propio Macedonio Fernandez, la influencia del filosofo aleman Arthur Schopenhauer en ella y el sincretismo macedoniano entre ciencia y metafisica tal como este lo desarrolla en su Eudeomonologia. La hipotesis de este articulo afirma que si bien El problema del Genio tensiona con el positivismo de Archivos, al mismo tiempo constituye una posicion significativa por su singularidad, por cuanto procura cohesionar aportes tanto del espiritualismo como del positivismo, constituyendose asi en una mirada novedosa en el marco de los debates filosoficos de la Argentina de entre siglos. EnglishThis article focuses on the writing of philosopher and intellectual Macedonio Fernandez, entitled El problema del genio, published in 1902 in Archivos, an iconic magazine of the positivism of the time. Its aim is to thoroughly analyze the above mentioned text, trying to bring to light three fundamental intertwined topics that appear through it, namely: the theory of the humorous, conceptualized by Macedonio itself; the influence of german philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer on it, and the syncretism between science and metaphysics in Macedonio’s Eudemonologia. The hypothesis of this article establishes that, although El problema del genio is at odds with the positivism of Archivos, at the same time it represents a meaningful position because of its singularity, in as much it tries to bring together contributions both from spiritualism and positivism, constituting therefore an original point of view in the context of philosophical debates at the turn of the century in Argentina.
