ResumoThe painter Wassily Kandinsky wrote in On the Spiritual in Art (1910) that a creator artist looks for, in the approximation with the music, the most material of arts, a way of expressing oneself, without the imitation as an end per se. That’s a perceptible aspect in the main character of Joana, from Clarice Lispector’s Perto do coracao selvagem (1943), that’s the reason why, in this paper, we aim at analyzing the presence of music, alluded to many times in the novel, and linking it to the structure of said novel.
