Resumo

According to Lucia Osana Zolin (2009a), Clarice Lispector's work represents a moment of disruption to the reproduction of values of the sex/gender system which, until then, marked the literary production of female authorship in Brazil. Thus, I analyze Lispector's short stories that deal with conjugality, in order to investigate how characters behave towards married life. The focus of this analysis is the short story “Os obedientes”, published in the anthologies A Legiao Estrangeira (1964) and Felicidade Clandestina (1971).
