ResumoRESUMO: A luz dos principios comparativos propostos por Rene Wellek no artigo “O nome e a natureza da literatura comparada” e da teoria literaria presente em A teoria do romance de Georg Lukacs, esta obra tem o intento de convergir a critica e a teoria literaria de distintos pensadores dos Estudos Literarios no mesmo foco analitico, visando, assim, a uma melhor elucidacao de duas das estruturas que sustentam os romances Adeus as armas, de Ernest Hemingway, e Nada de novo no front, de Erich M. Remarque: o heroi e o significado da guerra nas suas vidas. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Literatura comparada. Georg Lukacs. Teoria do romance e romance de guerra. ABSTRACT: In the view of the comparative principles proposed by Rene Welleck in his article “The Name and Nature of Comparative Literature” and the literary theory found in George Lukacs’s The Theory of the Novel, this paper aims to converge the criticism and the literary theory from different thinkers of literary studies into the same analytical forms, aiming a better solution for two of the structures which support the novels A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway and Nothing New on the Western Front by Eric M. Remarque: the hero and the meaning of the war in his life. KEYWORDS: Compared literature. George Lukacs. Theory of novel and war novel.
