ResumoThe Verde River is an important migratory route and nursey for fish species in the Upper Paraná River basin. We present the remaining ichthyofauna in the middle Rio Verde region after the installation of HPP São Domingos, and during the installation and start-up of SHP Verde 4 and Verde 4A (2017 to 2019).The registered biocenosis showed diversity below the expected, with highly significant adherence to the geometric series models of distribution of the species abundance.Even with the impacts of the installation of dams in the middle Verde, there is a significant local ichthyofauna for conservation and management, still including rheophilic species. We deliberate on the impacts originating outside and within the area of the hydroelectric plants, including silting, migration, or dispersion limitations, and the presence of species introduced from upstream and downstream in the basin. We present a preliminary argument for the integrated management of the fish fauna in the basin.
