ResumoThe work reviewed is by the renowned Brazilian writer Pedro Bandeira.Potentially aimed at children, É proibido miar (2016) tells the story of the puppy Bingo, traditional family of dogs' that instead of barking like any dog, simply meows.The objective was to verify how this corpus dialogues with children's universe to understand if it could contribute to readers formation.Thus, a vertical analysis under the light of children's literature theories was necessary.This object of study proved to be in line with the principles of the reader's formation, considering the humanizing and emancipatory character of this literary composition, which extended from the graphic project and illustrations to the written text.
