ResumoResumo: O artigo se propõe a analisar o romance Mar morto (1936), do escritor brasileiro de origem baiana Jorge Amado, e a obra Le gang des Antillais (1985), do autor francês de origem martinicana Loïc Léry. Leitor de Amado, Léry compartilha com o mesmo o apreço por temáticas sociais, pela escrita engajada, pela militância política e a experiência do exílio e do encarceramento. No âmbito literário, os livros dos autores, a despeito de distintas envergaduras literárias, apresentam imaginários convergentes na leitura do binômio ‘vulnerabilidade social’ e ‘banditismo’ e apontam para a criminalidade como ápice de opressões sociais e históricas que fragilizam seres marginais.Palavras-chave: Jorge Amado; Loïc Léry; literatura comparada; vulnerabilidade social; criminalidade.Abstract: The article aims to analyze the novel Sea of Death (1936) by the Brazilian writer, of Bahian origin, Jorge Amado and the work Le gang des Antillais (1985), by the French author, of Martinican origin, Loïc Léry. Reader of Amado, Léry shares with him the appreciation for social themes, the engaged writing, the political militancy and the experience of exile and incarceration. In the literary sphere, their books, despite different literary wingspans, present convergent imaginaries in the reading of the binomial ‘social vulnerability’ and ‘banditism’ and point to crime as the apex of social and historical oppressions that weaken marginal beings.Keywords: Jorge Amado; Loïc Léry; comparative literature; social vulnerability; criminality.
