ResumoThe article discusses the dialogue between the legal field and the elementary school about the inclusion of people with disabilities. In particular, the study starts from the question: How do lawyers from Brazilian Lawyers Association Niterói, Rio de Janeiro State Division, perceive the debate on inclusive educational legislation and its possible applications in the school space for the defense of the rights of persons with disabilities? In this sense, the investigation seeks to analyze the impressions of these lawyers about the inclusive educational legislation and its applicability in the elementary school. The methodological design adopted, based on a triangulation of empirical, normative and theoretical data, allowed us to identify, preliminarily, that the inclusion of people with disabilities does not yet play a significant role in the formation and professional practice of these subjects. Nevertheless, the lawyer can and should be an agent of dialogue with teachers in schools that contribute to building a more inclusive and plural education.
