ResumoThis paper is just a cutout of our research on the relationship between the literary text and its audience. Here, we discuss two reception texts of the novel "A hora e a vez de Augusto Matraga" from Sagarana (1983), they are: Luis Truzzi ( 2007) and Gustavo Ribeiro (2016).We take as basis Hans Robert Jauβ's discussion about the aesthetic experience, by considering both its positive and negative sides, it means, the enjoyment made possible by the diversity of experiences in reading, as well as the widening of the horizon made possible by it, that is, the reader's perception of social hypocrisy, as well as the understanding of his world and of himself; on the other hand, the utopian and indoctrinating possibility that this experience can make possible, especially when interacting with naive readers.
