ResumoThe COVID-19 pandemic brought many challenges to dental practice which required repairs on the biosafety protocols in dentistry.The aim of this article is to carry out a critical analysis about the changes in dental practice due the COVID-19 pandemic scenario.Methodology: a qualitative bibliographic review was carried out and the data collection was performed on the LILACS, BVS, SCIELO and PUBMED platforms using the descriptors: COVID-19, Coronavirus, Sars-CoV-2, Dentistry, Dental Surgeon and Biosafety.Results: 20 articles were included in the research, which there was a partial agreement on biosafety methods.Conclusion: it is concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic is a great challenge to the dental practice and this will not be easily overcome, making it essential to the dentists to always update their knowledge.
