The main objective of this article is to analyze the telejournalism of �TV Asa Branca� and �TV Jornal� in Caruaru, Pernambuco, in which concerns the approach given to Local Development themes. Specifically, it seeks to analyze the role of journalists who work from those channels in agenda definition and choosing the news which are broadcasted at the local television. Besides, it intends to understand the way media contributes to make the audience aware of issues linked to this kind of development. The TV news �ABTV 1a edicao� and �TV Jornal Meio Dia� were chosen as the object of this research. The research demonstrates that both TV newscast dedicated, during the time defined by the research, about 50% of their time to issues related to Local Development, but the absence of a deeper approach was present in many reports.
