ResumoThe diet of ω-3 as food supply bring benefic to heath like prevent heart disease, suppression of inflammation and developmental neurology. The principal actives for that’s effects is the fatty acid eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA). Because the growth of consumption and the easely acess of food supply turn the quality control is necessary to protect consumer health. Objectives: Evaluating the physical chemical and microbiology parameters of the omega-3 fatty acids sold in downtown Nova Serrana-Mg. Methods: Four brands were sampled in drugstores in the central region of the city of Nova Serrana-MG., and carried in according with Brazilian pharmacopoeia 5°Ed14, the tests were medium weight, disintegration, sulfated ashes, acidity test, peroxide value, lipid profile, counting aerobic mesophilic microorganisms and search for E. coli, S. aureus, Salmonella and total coliforms. Results: 100% of samples microbiology test is approved. At the test of physical chemical 50% (A and D) of samples shows result on peroxide value above limits determined. At the test lipid profile, 50% the samples (B and D) shows result of ALA (linoleic acid), EPA and DHA different from values present on your label. Conclusion: The variance of quality control shown necessity of legislation enforcement good pharmaceutical manufacturing practices provided RDC 17 of 2010, and adequacy from the companies to sanitary control of food supply provided on RDC 243 of 2018, to ensure quality and safety of product to the consumer.
