EnglishDuring the 5th century, the Suebi monarchy went through several transformations from the time they made their way into the Iberian Peninsula to the consolidation of its political-military hegemony in the region. Among these transformations, what stands out is their broad process of mobilities. In our view, they were intrinsically linked to the various military conflicts that occurred throughout Hispania. Based on this context, we propose hereby to analyze the objectives that guided these mobilities, seeking to demonstrate that this strategy was used mainly in favor of the expansion or survival of this monarchy, which varies depending on the time the studies are focused on. portuguesNo decorrer do seculo V, a monarquia sueva passou por diversas transformacoes desde sua entrada na Peninsula Iberica ate a consolidacao de sua hegemonia politico-militar na regiao. Dentre elas, podemos destacar o seu amplo processo de mobilidades que, em nossa visao, estavam intrinsicamente ligadas aos varios conflitos militares que ocorriam por toda a Hispania. Tendo por base esse contexto, propomos nesse artigo analisar os objetivos que pautaram essas mobilidades, buscando demonstrar que essa estrategia era empregada principalmente em prol da expansao ou da sobrevivencia dessa monarquia, dependendo da epoca considerada.
