Resumo

We present a case of subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDD) associated with age-related macular degeneration in a 89-year-old woman, imaged using the Nidek Mirante device (Nidek Co, Ltd). A, Confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy color (red, green, and blue lasers) fundus photograph highlights the numerous dot SDD (arrows), sometimes difficult to discern with standard flash color photographs. B, The fundus region involved by SDD is commonly poorly demarcated but the extent is clearly visible using the retro-mode illumination, illustrating the varying sizes and shapes of the SDD lesions. The SDDs appear larger (arrows) in the periphery but are smaller and more compactly arranged in the center (Magnified version of Fig A-B is available online at www.aaojournal.org).
